August 2000: Travels to Bavaria, and my mother's visit to San Diego
Highlights in August included traveling to Bavaria, attending one of my best friends' wedding, and vacation in my homeland. On the flight back to San Diego, my mother joined me. It was her first visit to the United States. We were spending three weeks together, exploring the sights of Southern California. There was a lot going on, and therefore I decided to split this month's Updater in three parts:
