Four-National-Parks-Tour Day 1 We picked up the motor home in Santee, a suburb of San Diego, and drove to Cuyamaca Rancho State Park where we stayed over night. Here we are at our first camp site, standing proudly in front of our RV, which became our home for two weeks: The campground was filled with birds, beautiful stellar blue jays and woodpeckers. The woodpeckers were busy gathering acorns, which they stored in small holes that they had chiseled before into the bark of oak trees. I have never seen trees before that were stuffed with their own fruit.
