I was hiking at two places in May and some impressions are below.

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado After attending a conference in Boulder, Colorado, I spent a weekend in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was my fourth visit to the park (pictures from previous visits are here, here, and here). This time a blizzard moved through, and I was walking at times in heavy winds and snowfall. I was glad that I brought snowshoes! When the clouds broke, the winterly landscapes were stunning.

Spitler Peak, California Two weeks later, I hiked with friends from the San Diego Hiking Club to the summit of Spitler Peak, located in the San Jacinto Mountains. It was spring, there were lots of flowers, and we all had a good time.
